Roundwood Bowls - About Us
Roundwood Bowls Club was founded in 1989 by John & Sharon Hipperson. There was an indoor bowls green with 6 rinks and a function room. In addition there was an outdoor artificial green with four rinks.
In July 2006 Mary and Graham Tuddenham took over the ownership of Roundwood and have developed the site greatly in the last 7 years. Within the first 18months they had the entire bowls bar and function room refurbished and updated giving Roundwood a clean and up to date image. Another year on and the garden was added at the rear of the function room which was then extended even further in 2011 into the current gardens we have now. The outside bowls rink was removed in 2010 due to a lack of interest in playing outside here at Roundwood, and so was opened up into extra parking which was widely welcomed by all.
The bowls club has now become a members club. Upgrades to the original green include a new wooden floor and carpet, and electronic scoring.
